Get Outside in all weather

Mental health is so important and with COVID we all need to be aware of our daily mental health score. There is so much research showing that physical activity is critical, but more importantly is doing your physical activity outside in nature. Letting the sun hit your face, the mental relaxation of the beautiful views, enjoying nature. Unfortunately, the weather does not always cooperate, but you still need to get outside, get active, and have fun. There is a saying in the mountains, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. This reinforces the importance of dressing appropriately and preparing for your outdoor adventures, weather it is a short walk to an epic multi day adventure.

I am very lucky to live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and as a family we get to explore our wilderness playground on a weekly basis. We were out for our daily adventure with the family, a very nice 10km hike on a secluded trail just north of our house. It was a beautiful day if you are a frog, 2deg and pouring rain! Rain or shine, we still need to go out and get some fresh air, sunshine and spend time in nature. I looked at this as perfect weather to test out the Marmot rain gear.

This is a super versatile outfit, it is light enough to pack easily in your pack for longer adventures, very breathable for hot weather and easy to layer under for cold or winter days. Julie was perfectly warm and dry in the perfect 2deg and pouring rain and when the sun finally came out, she was still perfectly dressed.

I Love the Marmot BL Pro Jacket and Minimalist pant, both are 3 layer Gore-Tex and guaranteed to keep you bry. The BL Pro jacket is Marmot's top of the line shell using Gore Pro which is the most robust fabric and definitely keeps you warm and dry in all conditions. I use this jacket as a ski shell and as a rain jacket and wind stop piece, it does everything exceptionally well and looks great.

Overall, the Marmot gear that we were wearing kept us very dry and warm in the 2deg and pouring rain and allowed us to enjoy the little bit of sun at the end of the hike capping of an amazing family adventure.
